What are the benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy (CHT)?

Some people have found that colonics offer a relief from a variety of disturbances by cleansing the colon of impacted and putrefied fecal matter.  Fatigue, gas, headaches, irritability, skin problems, bad breath, cold hands and feet, and lethargy are among the problems people have found relieved by colon cleansing.  Constipation may also be relieved, as well as chronic diarrhea.  Your sense of well-being is often dramatically improved with colon cleansing.  You may feel lighter and more energetic.  After a colonic, the body is likely to again assimilate food in the colon and better defend itself against disease.  Natural peristalsis, tone, and regularity are also likely to be restored and many serious diseases may be averted through this gentle, sterile process.  Colonics can be a key factor in the restoration of the body's natural balance or what we call good health.  However, the primary benefit of CHT is reducing the body's #1 source of disease~accumulated toxins and wastes.  Disease can result when toxic substances are allowed to accumulate in the body and re-circulate in the bloodstream.  This produces a weakened immune system and lessens the body's resistance to disease.

Please note that in regards to the above information, we cannot guarantee any of these results or benefits for any given individual.

Are there any side effects?

Most people feel a burst of energy and sense of well-being after a colonic; however, a small percentage of individuals may start to feel like they have a cold or headache after a colonic.  Toxins, which have been lying dormant in the colon, are now being flushed out and a small amount may be re-absorbed into the body's system. This healing process passes quickly and the person will realize a feeling of well-being.  Loss of weight is also a potential side effect.

Is CHT Embarrassing?

The procedure is done with modesty for both the client and therapist.  State-of-the-art FDA Registered, professional equipment is used, facilitating total sanitation and efficiency.  You will find the procedure gentle, comfortable, and relaxing.  You are completely covered during the entire procedure.  The session takes place in a clean, comfortable room.  The dignity of the client is always maintained.

Is CHT Painful?

No.  When the muscles of the colon contract prior to a release of toxins, some individuals may experience a mild cramping.  The procedure is very gentle and afterwards you can expect to feel lighter and cleaner inside.

Will enemas or laxatives accomplish the same result?

An enema cleanses only the first 12 inches of your colon and uses a single, high-volume, pressurized fill, sometimes straining the anus.  A colonic bathes the entire 5 feet of the colon with repeated inflow and outflow of filtered, temperature-controlled water to slowly dissolve accumulated toxic debris.  CHT also exercises and tones the colon muscle to work more efficiently.  Laxatives are an irritant, causing the body to expel a watery substance that goes through the colon but leaves behind impacted toxins on the colon wall.  Laxatives can also be habit-forming.

How long does a session last?

A colonic lasts approximately 35-45 minutes.  However, for your first colonic, plan on approximately 90 minutes.  There are health history forms to complete; the client and therapist will discuss any relevant health issues or concerns that need to be addressed.

How many sessions will I need?

Three seesions to start out with is suggested to receive a decent cleansing.  Six to twelve sessions is recommended for a thorough cleansing, however; it will vary with each individual.  Someone coming for regular, preventive maintenance may need fewer sessions than someone with severe gastrointestinal problems.

Is there anything I need to do before my appointment?

Make sure you eat 2 hours before you arrive so you have energy, but try not to eat anything after that time to avoid exertion on your digestive system and heart.

What should I or shouldn't I eat after a colonic?

Easily digestible foods are best.  Avoid raw vegetables and heavy meat consumption such as beef and pork.  Chicken and fish are best since they are easier to digest.  Drink lots of water to keep the toxins flushing from your body.
